Sidebar tab 1: SEO score

The SEO score tab in the Blym Editor

The Blym content score is designed to help you create content that performs well on Google by analyzing what currently ranks. Our scoring system reverse-engineers successful content patterns and provides actionable recommendations to improve your content's search performance.

Important: While our score provides valuable optimization guidance, it cannot replace genuine expertise and high-quality content. Google prioritizes expert content and considers engagement signals like social shares and time spent reading. Always focus on creating valuable, authoritative content for your audience first, then use our score to optimize the technical aspects.

The score is calculated out of 100 points across four key areas: Headings (30 points), Content (46 points), Meta (13 points), and Links (11 points).

Headings

Your heading structure significantly impacts both SEO and user experience. The headings section evaluates:

  • One H1 in the content: 5 points - Your content must have exactly one H1 tag
  • Target keyword in H1: 5 points - Include your primary target keyword in the H1. You can also use secondary keywords, which are synonyms you can add by following this guide.
  • Target keyword in H2: 5 points - At least one H2 should contain your target keyword or secondary keywords to earn these points
  • Number of subheadings: 15 points - Match the average number of H2 and H3 tags used by competing articles. You need to be close to this average to maximize your score even if your outline can be longer.

Content

This section evaluates content optimization across two key areas:

  • Content length: 18 points - You should try to match the typical word count found in competing articles and not be too far away from this average. If the content is much too long, you will be penalized (we will subtract 3 points), so try to avoid excessive length. However, if longer content makes sense in terms of quality, that is acceptable. Quality should always matter more than the score.
  • Semantic terms optimization: 28 points - You need to include as many suggested terms from the sidebar (shown in gray) as possible to maximize your points. Refer to the article on terms for more explanations on how this works

Meta

Your meta tags are crucial for search visibility and earn points as follows:

  • Target keyword in meta title: 5 points - The target keyword or one of the secondary keywords must be included in the meta title
  • Meta title length: 6 points - Keep within recommended limits of 50-60 characters
  • Meta description length: 2 points - Maintain optimal length of 150-160 characters

You can refer to the article in our documentation for how to update the meta title.

Links are important for SEO. Currently, our AI does not add any links, so you need to manually add a specific number of internal and external links:

  • Internal links: 6 points - Add the recommended number of internal links. These are links that point to your own domain or website
  • External links: 5 points - Include the recommended number of external links. These should point to relevant, authoritative sources such as Wikipedia, journals, newspapers, or similarly credible sites
