Using the Blym sidebar: a step-by-step guide
Learn how to use the Blym sidebar to analyze and enhance your article's SEO performance. The Blym sidebar has been created to help you improve your article and to assist you in obtaining information from Google on the topic you want to rank for.
Getting started with the Blym sidebar
Step 1: Open an article in the editor. The Blym sidebar appears on the right.
Step 2: At the top of the sidebar, you'll find your article's overall SEO score. The Blym SEO score is a custom metric that we created to help you identify what you need to focus on in order to rank on Google.
Close to the score, you will find:
- Avg. : This is the average score of the other pages that rank on Google for your topic/keyword
- Word count: So, this is the number of words you have in your article, and you also have the average number of words for the other pages that rank on Google for your topic/keyword.
The tabs: The Score
The score tabs provide you with the E-terms that can help you increase the score displayed above.
The information is divided into four different sections:
- Headings
- Content
- Meta
- Links

The tabs: The Terms
Click the second tab to access semantic terms.
Blym collects key terms and phrases frequently used in top-ranking Google articles for your keyword. Including these terms strengthens your article's relevance and impacts your semantic terms score.
Color coding helps you see your progress:
- Green means you've used the term enough
- Yellow prompts you to use it more
- Gray flags missing terms.
Aim for maximum green for better results.

The tabs: The SERP
Navigate to the last tab to explore SERP insights. This section shows live search engine results for your target keyword, including:
- Search result insights: Some notes regarding the intent
- People Also Asked questions: The questions the readers are also searching for when they search for your keyword/topic in Google.
- Top ranking pages: The pages that are currently ranking in Google for your keyword/topic.
Use these insights to spot competitor strategies, trending questions, and essential metadata to guide your optimization efforts.
